The Arts
Art From Scrap
Art From Scrap’s ReUse Store keeps thousands of pounds of clean, reusable materials from ending up in the Santa Barbara County landfill each year. All kinds of treasures donated by local businesses and individuals – from tiles and tape, to paper and picture frames, to fabric and film reels, to beads and burlap bags - are available as the perfect low-cost option for theater & art projects, Halloween costumes, Solstice floats, party decorations, and other creative endeavors.
Well Being
Santa Barbara Mental Wellness Center
Since 1947, the Santa Barbara Mental Wellness Center has been working to meet the needs of adults and families who are affected by mental illness. In 1959, our Fellowship Club was founded. By providing residential and support services, as well as education and advocacy in the community at large, we have been able to make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of individuals.
Act One will donate products and services for the annual SB Mental Wellness Center Art Show & Sale held in De L Guerra Plaza.
Casa Serena
Casa Serena’s mission is to provide effective treatment services and a safe, sober living environment to women seeking recovery from the disease of alcoholism or who are addicted to alcohol and other drugs, to introduce them to the philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous and the 12-Step process and to promote community awareness of Casa Serena’s services.
Act One will donate products and services for the annual Casa Serena silent auction fundraising benefit.
Sustainability
Our Crew
Act One is dedicated the care, health and well being of our crew. To that end, Act One will provide on-site wine keys and lint brushes free of charge ;)
All joking aside, in order to take care of our amazing staff to the best of our ability, Act One will start by paying for all Safe Serve certifications, now required by the State of California, but which other employers require staff to pay for. Currently, we are also able to offer complimentary tickets for all performances at the New Vic Theater. And in order to foster the creativity of our team, Act One provides free web and Facebook space for any artistic endeavors our team mates want to share with the world. As we grow, we look forward to offering even more perks and benefits for our team.
